We all know the great Rajnikanth and his cool attitude and style, but these days something has shaken his confidence. Rajnikanth has apparently visited the parlor a little too many times and gotten his skin coloured and hair transplants, and what not! And the reason behind him being totally pimped out is none other than Aishwarya and the new filck ‘Robot’. Rajnikanth has to shoot a love scene with her for his magnum opus and the megastar wants to look as good as the doe eyed beauty.
The second Tollywood star who’s giving styling headaches to her crew is Asin. While filming on the sets of ‘London’, she has been rejecting make up men and stylists at a never before speed — owing to her skin being a touchy subject. But that’s not all, apparently her sensitive skin isn’t the only thing interefering with the filmmaking process. Looks like Asin’s picked up more than just fine acting skills from her ‘Ghajini’ co-star Aamir!
Aamir Khan starrer ‘Ghajini’ grossed Rs 1bn in its 1st week of its release

It was party time for cast and crew of recently released Bollywood film ‘Ghajini’ as they celebrated the huge success of their film in tinsel town Mumbai.
‘Ghajini’ became the only Indian film to earn one billion rupees at the box office across India in less than a week of its release on Christmas.At a time when every industry is hit by recessionary trends and Bollywood did not fare quite well at the box office business, the film starring India’s lead actor Aamir Khan broke all the previous records and set the cash registers ringing within a few days of its release.
The cast and crew of ‘Ghajini’ made merry as they celebrated the success of their film.A cake was cut by Aamir Khan with figures of the collection topping it and subsequently distributed to all the members present.
Expressing happiness at the business done by ‘Ghajini’ Aamir said, “I’m very happy and thankful that the film is being appreciated by the audience so much. The hard work put in by the entire team is being appreciated by the people and that is what makes me all the happier… I think the numbers on the cake signify the collection of the film across India, in five days or maybe a week, I’m not sure.
The film has broken many records and no other film has roped in so much collection that our film has. So I’m very happy.”
‘Ghajini’ a remake of a Tamil film by the same name is essentially a love story starring Aamir Khan along with actors Asin, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat.Asin, who acted in the Tamil version of the film as well, expressed her delight at the film’s success and thanked the audience for appreciating her performance in Ghajini’.
“I don’t come with baggage or expectations. I just focus on my work. And for me because the audiences have accepted, it is such a happy moment for me at this point of time. And again I repeat myself but thank you all so much for the love you have given,” said Asin.
Besides, raking in huge profits in domestic markets, ‘Ghajini’ has done well in the overseas market as well.
The film grossed US $ four million within a week of its Christmas release.
Superstar Aamir Khan’s latest film ‘Ghajini’ will now be available in English subtitles making it accessible to hearing-impaired persons and non-Hindi speaking audience as well.The film, which stars Aamir Khan and South Indian actress Asin in lead, is a story of a man suffering from short term memory loss.
The two cinema halls –Big Cinemas Wadala and Metro Big Cinemas– will screen the film with English subtitles in the second week, which will make it more accessible to the hearing-impaired persons and non-Hindi speaking moviegoers.
“This will ensure that the cinema medium can be enjoyed more completely by a larger number of the public, especially the hearing impaired who could not earlier understand the dialogues,” said Tushar Dhingra, Chief Operating Officer, Big Cinemas in a release.
The much awaited film, the story of a man with short term memory loss on a mission to avenge the death of his fiancee, opened to a “bumper” response in India and 22 countries worldwide yesterday.The advance booking for the film is four times more than the record opening any movie has ever got, Khan said.
According to trade sources, the film has been released with nearly 1,500 prints. The paid previews all over India before the release have boosted its box office collections, they said.
Popular south Indian actress Asin, who starred in 17 films before making her debut in Hindi films with ‘Ghajini’, says that it has been a smooth transition for her in Bollywood.
“I have been warmly welcomed in Mumbai and it has been a smooth transition for me from South Indian films to Hindi.
The Cochin born actress says she is amused when she is referred to as a debutante in the film. “The Hindi ‘Ghajini’ is my 18th film. I have already acted in 17 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages,” she says. “Compared to my contemporaries, I have been selective and even took a break some years ago to appear for my HSC examinations.”
Asin, who is paired opposite actor-producer Aamir Khan in the film which will release later this week, is eagerly awaiting the verdict of the audience.
The Tamil version of ‘Ghajini’, on which the film is based, released on October 2005 and people down south are waiting for the Hindi film with tremendous excitement and anticipation.
On her character in the film, Asin, says Kalpana is a simple, ordinary girl from a lower middle class family struggling to make it big in the advertising world. “If the makers of the film worked hard on the look of Aamir’s character Sanjay Singhania, there was equal effort to keep my look very ordinary and simple.
In the Hindi version, except director A R Murugadoss and myself, the rest of the team is new. There have been changes in the action sequences as well as the climax. However, my character has been left untouched, she says. “I feel blessed to perform the same character twice,” .
